Grandpa, Gramps. Whatever you call him, he's a great character for this type of anti-technology Luddite-type comments. This is not to imply that I know anyone like that. I just need someone through whom I can make these jokes.

I was driving in this morning (twice, I had to go back home because I forgot my computer) and heard a car ad with one of those fast-talking disclaimers at the end. I wondered why we don't have them in other areas of our life.

It's a Mute Point

I pulled this idea from a list of actual quotes kept by a team member from one of my projects. Well, the mute quote was there. I decided to use that as a starting point for the person on the phone "not hear" everything said in the office.
