Why Pie Charts

Do you ever have trouble deciding what a pie chart is trying to communicate? You see them all the time. On TV news, in the newspapers and magazines, in business presentations and annual reports. It seems like there ought to be some small percentage that totally misinterpret the picture. So, I took a poll (not really. I picked numbers at random) and created my own pie chart.

Express Line

I was thinking about how to beat the express line at a supermarket. have you ever been shopping with another and you split the items in the cart so you could use the express line? Oh come on, you know you have. So, I was thinking what you would have to do if you wanted to use the quick lane instead of waiting behind someone that has two carts full of groceries. There must be a way to beat that system.

The Super You Know What

Have you heard about the NFL suing to prevent companies or groups from calling their events a "Super Bowl Party?" Well, actually, they can if they pay the licensing fee. Come on. That is crazy. So, can we not even say those words in a normal conversation? That is what I toyed with in today's CoV.

Moses in the USA

With all the snow in the country this Super Bowl weekend, is it any wonder that I came up with a snow-themed CoV? I had envisioned showing Moses practicing as a child, but the challenges of depicting a child that you could tell was Moses put me off. So, this still got the same message across. What is the message? Well, if Moses can part the waters, why not use the skill to clean walkways of snow?

Systems at the Speed of Need

For some weird reason, the titular phrase came to mind before I knew what I wanted it to mean. As I wrote the cartoon, I had the first three panels done and was working on the fourth when I decided I needed another panel. So, I moved the final comment of panel 2 into place of the final comment of panel 1. Then, I moved panel 3 to 2 and panel 4 into 3 and created the new final panel. Ah, the crazy life of a creative genius.

Offering for Poor

Truthfully, I have no clue what made me think of this during my commute this morning. So, no backstory today. The only change I made from my original thinking was to add more people's comments as if they removed money from the offering plate instead of putting money in.

Knowledge Transfer

In our organization, Knowledge Transfer (KT) occurs once a project is completed and support needs to move from the development team to the support team. So, since it is decidedly not an exact science, is it possible to transfer too much knowledge?
